Very interesting question. The answer is that each grocery store has its own way for encoding the customer number, adding sometimes mysterious "escape sequences." For our first live (personal) demoes, we had to first guess what kind of code -- named "symbology" -- a given store was using (and that was fun to present to the cashier our mobile screen, and have it properly decoded.)
There are many symbologies, but Bag'A'Card can handle quite all of them. The fact that the symbol is generated on the device brings a lot of advantages, like the sharpness of the image, and the cheapness it is for the store to just send a bare and naive SMS.
What you should do is to tell your grocery store about your desire to get your loyalty card on your phone, and have them contact us (by email or phone). We could surely add their specific encoding to Bag'A'Card (if necessary) and explain them what code their SMS's has to carry in order to be displayed the proper way.
If you just wanted it as a test, we may need a picture of your loyalty card (with its associated number) and your mobile phone # (assuming you downloaded Bag'A'Card) Then we will try to match the number and barcode and send you the appropriate SMS.
